The Voiceless

October 2019,
Will always be a month
To look back upon
And sigh

It is a month of darkness
When people’s opinions stopped mattering
And politicians took it into their own hands
To dictate the law

The voiceless were ignored
And those with a voice,
Protested loudly,
But were ignored

It all comes down to the politicians
And the childish games they play
Not wanting to cooperate with each other
Which punishes us all

Misconstrued

Every day we try to be ourselves
But it is very hard
As others can misconstrue you

The words you say
The way you look
Or the way you behave

It’s all taken out of context
And made into something else
In the minds of others

Then it’s that version of you
Which gets played to others
Then spirals out of control

Can people not just take us,
For who we are
And not project things onto you

Or is it because
People don’t actually know us
Or even bother getting to know how we tick

There are assumptions made about people
And judgments falling down
But really, who is the real us?

Messed Up World

Sometimes life can be pretty messed up
With people doing the stuff they shouldn’t
And saying things that harmful

Or you go to the extreme side of politics
Which can be pretty twisted
With all the lies and manipulation

It is hard to know who to trust
In this world of fake news
Which effects more than the individuals concerned

We live in a he said/she said world
With no one taking the time.
To actually seek the truth

What is the truth these days?
Om this world of exaggeration
And throwing daggers

It is a god eat dog world
Each person out for themselves
With a thought of others

It is sad to live in these times
Where you are afraid to speak
And even afraid to smile

Slow Down

Slow down
Don’t skip to the end
Take a breath
Do not fear

Make plans
Do not stress
Plans fall apart
But that is ok

Live in the present
Put the past behind
Don’t worry about the future
It will be all ok

Scrambled

I am tossed
I am tangled
Not sure which way is up

My brain is busy
My heart is heavy
Am I inside or out

So man emotions
Entangled with my thoughts
I am going stir crazy

Is it wrong?
Or is it right?
What is the lay of the land?

I am confused
My head is scrambled
Like eggs on a plate

What do I do?
Nothing is the answer
Am sure this will go away

The voices in my head,
Are arguing with each other
Please give me peace

Am I Wrong?

My mind is so active
So many thoughts
Many of them destructive

Then I think of you
And guilt starts to rise
I should have acknowledged you

But guilt is wrong
As I should feel no shame
I am standing my ground

I wonder though, am I wrong?
Because it brings out fear
Fear of being ignored

But I need to remember
That it doesn’t matter
And I should not care

I will live my own life
I don’t need your selfishness
Clogging up my space

Flitting

I go from one world to another
Flitting between place
Not content in one area

I meet many other people
All who have a different story
One I am eager to know

I help catch a killer
I roam the streets of London
And I help break the chain

I walk from town to town
Immersing myself in the surroundings
Getting lost in the scenery

It is an educational experience
I have so much to learn
In every place I go

When I finally get home
I tell others all about,
The wonderful places I have been

Then they can follow after me
And enjoy the wonderful experience
Of being lost in another world
