Unopened

Sitting in the kitchen
On the table before me,
Lies the unopened envelope

It stays there along time
I'm scared to see,
What lies inside?

That piece of paper
Could build or break me
My heart’s beating fast

I left the envelope
Open it timidly
And read, eyes half closed

I breathe a deep sigh
A sign of relief
The future is bright
