Undeserving

Every day as we walk
In the luminous darkness
We stumble and fall
Trying to make our way

Every day as we walk
Among the fallen
Holding our heads up
We are better than the rest

Every day as we walk
We are tempting grace
Taking the unconditional love
And abusing the wondrous gift

We act as we are it,
Be all and end all
Who we are all deserving
Of Grace and Love

We act all innocent
But we are guilty
We don’t deserve mercy
There should be no forgiveness

But we are lucky
Lucky for the gift of Grace
As we are undeserved sinners
With a loving mighty saviour

Mary's Ode

I went to the grave
But no one was there
The stone which was guarded,
Was now rolled away

Where has he gone?
What did they do?
The tomb is empty
Jesus has gone

I turned to leave
A man was there
He said to me
Why the tears?

I explained my tears
I longed for Jesus
He once was there
But now he has gone

Mary, he said
In recognisable tones
Rabboni, I said
Jesus you have risen

Yes Mary it is I
It is the third day
And I have risen
Just as was foretold

Run tell the disciples
Tell them I am here
Rejoice and be glad

Redemption has arrived

Paid the Price

You came to earth
To walk among us
To spread the news
Of the Father’s love

You raised the dead
Turned water into wine
Healed the sick
And fed the crowds

You took the ordinary
To walk with you
And transformed them
Into fishers of men

You came to earth
To walk among us
To show us all
The right way to go

After thirty years
All came to an end
In one dark day
Due to the anger of men

You paid the price
For us you died
You freed us all
From the bondage of sin

You came to earth
To walk among us
To bring us all
Into our Father’s arms

Betrayal

I had to do it
I had no choice
I was confused

For months I walked,
I followed him everywhere
Listening to all he said

People loved him
Wanting his help
Hanging on every word

However there were others
They didn't believe
And sought to kill

Who was this man?
A truth or a falsehood?
Who do I believe?

People loved him
Others hated him
But he loved me

He loved me,
Yet I did wrong
I led him to death

For greed of money
I sold him out
Gave him to death

With just one kiss
I destroyed him
And lost myself

A Days Difference

Today is Sunday
It’s a new day
A time of reflection

Two days ago
Life was black
As Jesus had died

But now it is different
Things have changed
We have a fresh start

Today is Sunday
Christ has risen
We have been forgiven

In Finding You

I am in need
For solace and reflection
So I wander slowly
In the forgotten library

Here, I find you
My winters muse
Hiding from me
Among the pages

I read the words
They lift my soul
And give me hope
Inner joy reigns

I put you down
And continue on
Looking for you
To carry me on

I look and look
Until I find,
The springs serenade
And my step is lightened

I can now leave
Because in finding you
My minds been renewed
And my heart is full
