Wrong Number

The phone rang

No caller ID

But I answered anyway

Intrigued

‘Hello’, I said

‘It’s been a while’,

Came the reply

In a very husky tone

‘Who is this?’ I said

‘It’s me Mike’, the voice said

‘No that can’t be,

Mike died a year ago’

‘Oops my bad’

Said the voice

‘Must be a wrong number’

The line went dead
