A Devastating Impact

Night after night
Day after day
The bullets fly
The gunshots scream

We run for cover
Trying to shield ourselves
From the bombs
And the falling shrapnel

Everyone is petrified
Living through terror
Trying to escape death
And for why?

All this hate, what is it for?
Do they even know?
Can't  they see, the devastating impact?
It is having on the land and the people?

A Tightening Knot

Every time I walk into the room
Anxiety rushes over me
Sweaty palms, negative thoughts
And a tightening knot in the stomach

I feel everyone is staring at me
And waiting for me to fall
But are they really?
Or is it just in my head?

Why would they look?
I am nothing special anyway
I’m just a normal person like them
Trying to understand life

Night Murmurs

In the darkness
I sit and wait
Wait for you to come
And tell me why

I just sit and stare
Looking at the stars
See them twinkling brightly
Smiling down on me

I am glad that I’m here
Waiting for your presence
But the darkness is cold
And the night murmurs are loud

But I will sit and wait
I will reach out my hand
I will open up my heart
And will await the peace

Echoes in the Dark

Lying on the floor
Staring at the ceiling
Wandering what to do
Trying to hear your voice

I strain my ears to hear
But all I hear is silence
I shout loudly to nothing
And it echoes in the dark

Please let me hear you
I really need a sign
That you are up there
Watching over me

Its not like I don’t believe
Because I do, I believe in you
But I am struggling here
Looking into the darkness of the future

Hope

HOPE
A four letter word
That is often forgotten
Because in sorrow
It is hard to find hope

We all need hope
We need this word
To be kept in our heads
And kept in our hearts

Hope can open doors,
Which were once locked
Hope can restore and reconcile
Trust and relationships

We all need to hope
Hope to be healed
Hope to be restored
Hope to be forgiven

We need to claim this word
We need to claim hope
We need to live in hope
Because hope is powerful

Dance it Out

All my pain, all my troubles
They are always with me
No idea how to dismiss them
What shall I do?

Something I once heard
Dance it out
Dance all the problems away
Just let yourself go

So I did, I danced it out
And I felt free
Danced like no one was watching
And it lifted my spirit

I felt free, I felt joy
My heart beating fast
And the adrenaline flowing
So when feeling low, Dance it out.

Ease My Troubles

Its the middle of the night
I am meant to be asleep
But my brain does not agree
And my thoughts are doing overtime

All the troubles and thoughts of the day
Seem to not want to disappear
I just want to go to sleep
Not relive my troubled day

I try to block the negative thoughts
And replace them with positivity
To help my brain relax
And my eyes close to sleep

But my plan is not working
What can I do to ease my troubles?
To remove the tension from my body
And get me over to sleep
