Tug of War

  

It was like a tug of war

My head against my heart

The thoughts running wild

And the heart beating fast

 

What was in my head

Did not match the truth

That is in my heart

Lies were being thrown around

 

It was enough to disrupt me

And keep me awake

Lying in the dark alone

Wishing to sleep to come
