You broke my heart
Left me standing in
the sea
The waves rising fast
Ready to swallow me
You left me to drown
Even though I cried
to you for help
I reached out my hand
But you kicked it and
walked away
If only you knew how
broken I was
Instead of leaving me
for dead
You may have come and
rescued me
Instead I drowned in
the sea
I have tried hard to
forgive you
I thought that I had
But when it comes to
seeing you
The walls of defence
build up inside
Maybe the best thing
to do is leave
Leave the past behind
us
And forget about what
happened
And move onto
pastures new
In order for me to do
that
I need to say goodbye
to you
I need to leave you
behind
So I walk through the
open door to freedom
