Stand Up

Everywhere I turn I see injustice
When I watch the TV
When I listen to the radio
When I read a newspaper
And even when I walk down the street

It makes me feel sick inside
When I see scenes of war
I just don’t understand
Why we had to go and fight
Why did these men have to die?

I just want to cry
When I see the people of Africa
To see them hungry and dying
Makes me angry inside
How can the powers to be let this happen?

Do people really care?
About what happens outside their world?
Do they care about,
Anyone else but themselves

To me the answer is no
We need people who have got a voice
We need people who have got the power
To stand up and fight

We have these people
But others laugh at them and scorn them
For the good they are trying to do
But every little bit they do
Helps whose who are unfortunate than us

All I want to say is
Don’t laugh at them
Don’t scorn what they are doing
But stand up and help them
It’s the only way things will change
It’s the only way to get people to listen
